Mr.Bond® 4500 FLR is a fire-proof double-sided tissue tape with excellent adhesion, UL 94 V0 approved for flame retardancy. FLR stands for flame retardant. It is engineered for applications that demand both strong, reliable bonding and proven flame resistance, which is a combination most standard bonding tapes do not offer: a tape is usually specified either for its adhesion or for its fire rating, and this grade is intended to satisfy both requirements at once. As a double-sided tissue tape it carries adhesive on both faces with a tissue carrier between them, so it bonds two surfaces together with a thin bond line and tears by hand. Thickness and adhesive type are held as trade secrets. Mr.Bond® 4500 FLR is manufactured by Lalit Jain Industries Pvt. Ltd. (LJIPL), an ISO 9001:2015 certified tape manufacturer founded in 1987, at its units in Rai, Sonipat (Haryana) and Bawana, Delhi NCR, India.
UL 94 is the standard classification used for the flammability of plastic materials, and V0 is the highest of its vertical burn ratings. A material classified V0 is the most demanding category in that scale.
Mr.Bond® 4500 FLR is UL 94 V0 approved. For a specifier, that matters because a flame rating on a bonding tape is usually a requirement written into the assembly specification rather than a preference, and it has to be evidenced on every material in the build.
FLR in the product name stands for flame retardant. Where the flame-rated material needs to be a thermal interface rather than a bonding tape, Mr.Bond® thermal pads are also UL 94V0 approved. Because most bonding tapes force a choice. A tape with excellent adhesion often has no flame rating; a flame-rated material is often not a bonding tape at all.
4500 FLR is engineered for applications that demand both: strong, reliable bonding and proven flame resistance. Standard grades are specified on adhesion, thickness and liner. This grade adds a UL 94 V0 flame-retardancy approval, so it can be used where the assembly specification requires a flame rating on every material. If no flame rating is required, a standard tissue tape grade is the more direct choice.
